For
upcoming S/S-2012 season world's leading fashion houses, such as Gucci,
Etro, Alberta Ferretti, Ralph Lauren and many others are in the mood
for "Roaring 20's", as the women seen on their catwalks truly threw us
back
to that period... The term "Roaring 20's" best describes the era after
world war 1, when Jazz in music, Art-Deco in design (you can have a
glance at Empire state building, that is one of the most prominent
example of art-deco architecture) and "flappers" in social life became
so popular! "Roaring 20's" are also called as "Crazy years" when new
generation of women called - "flappers" rushed against the old
traditions - they bobbed their hair, shortened their dresses, began
smoking, drinking, dancing "Charleston", driving the cars and enjoying
their life in their own
way! This is the period when women said "no" to super tight corsets!
Most influential woman of 20'th century - Coco Chanel was one of the
first
who wore trousers, reject corset and shortened her hair. She was a "role
model" - women loved her and wanted to be like her. Coco Chanel truly
liberalized woman's fashion. Women no more tried to emphasize their
body shapes, more flattened breast, low waisted, easy silhouette,
art-deco inspired dresses
were popular, this is the period when woman first loved "garconne"-
boyish
style. (Besides Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiparelli and Jean Patou were
designers who also made 20's fashion).
